Updated GatherPlace Java Client Released
Enhancing the Web and Voice Conferencing Experience

June 30, 2009 - GatherWorks, Inc. announces the enhancement of its GatherPlace Java-based software client, with simpler web conferencing for users on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and other Operating Systems.

"We have improved the GatherPlace Java-based client to bring our customers the best blend of web conferencing," said Frik Strecker, President and CEO. "Everything is more intuitive, and customers and their Guests can depend on GatherPlace at any time, anywhere, for a smooth online meeting, remote support session, or on-line class."

VoIP Technology Added to Mac OS X Java Client for Advanced Teleconferencing
Customers on Mac OS X can now use their favorite web browser to join a GatherPlace web conference and user their computer as a telephone (VoIP) without having to install software. Alternatively users can use telephones and everyone is intelligently mixed together into the same web conference.
 
"Smart Interface" Makes Web Conferencing Even Simpler
The Graphical User Interface (GUI) of the GatherPlace Java client has been significantly updated to provide more power and flexibility to based on the type of the participant (Host, Guest Presenter, Remote Supported, etc) without making the experience more complicated. This makes features more intuitive and usable to the user and ensures an even greater success of online meetings.
 
Other enhancements and feature additions of the Java-based client include:
  • All non-Host participants now have controller buttons to pause/resume presentation, remote support, etc.
  • Improved text chat
